Glassdoor研究:高(gāo)管薪水(shuǐ)越高(gāo),員工支持率越低(dī)
雇主點評網站(zhàn)Glassdoor最新調查顯示:薪酬水(shuǐ)平很(hěn)高(gāo)的首席執行(xíng)官在員工中的支持率往往要顯著低(dī)于薪資水(shuǐ)平較低(dī)的首席執行(xíng)官。該調查涵蓋了7萬餘家(jiā)上(shàng)市公司的約120萬名員工。
研究發現,首席執行(xíng)官漲薪的主要原因是企業績效,但(dàn)有(yǒu)些(xiē)首席執行(xíng)官的漲薪則是由于權力所衍生(shēng)的效益——比如有(yǒu)的首席執行(xíng)官能自己給自己漲工資。在所有(yǒu)樣本企業中,首席執行(xíng)官的平均年收入是1,230萬美元。
該研究還(hái)發現,如果員工對公司的總體(tǐ)滿意度較高(gāo),那(nà)麽即使他們對首席執行(xíng)官的支持率很(hěn)低(dī),這種不滿也會(huì)有(yǒu)所沖淡。另外,如果首席執行(xíng)官本人(rén)是也是公司的創始人(rén),則其支持率平均要比外部聘用或內(nèi)部提拔的首席執行(xíng)官高(gāo)出3.2%。
如果按行(xíng)業劃分的話(huà),首席執行(xíng)官支持率水(shuǐ)平最高(gāo)的行(xíng)業分别是房(fáng)地産(76.1%)、建築(72.8%)、信息技(jì)術(shù)(72.6%)、金融(72.41%)和(hé)保險業(71.8%)。首席執行(xíng)官支持率水(shuǐ)平最低(dī)的行(xíng)業則分别是零售(61.4%)、加工(64.1%)、運輸(64.3%)、采礦(64.4%)和(hé)媒體(tǐ)業(64.5%)。
同時(shí),性别因素一般不會(huì)對首席執行(xíng)官的支持率造成統計(jì)學上(shàng)的影(yǐng)響。不過由于女性隻占了被調查的首席執行(xíng)官總人(rén)數(shù)的5%,因此基于這樣一個(gè)小(xiǎo)樣本,研究人(rén)員恐怕還(hái)無法得(de)出強有(yǒu)力的結論。
Glassdoor research: the higher the CEO be paid, the lower support rate from the staff
(Sep.2, 2016, /HRoot.com/) According to a new Glassdoor survey, which collected 1.2 million approval ratings from about 70,000 different publicly traded companies, researchers found that highly paid CEOs have significantly lower approval ratings than CEOs who are paid less.
Pay raises are mainly due to merit, the study found, but some are the result of managerial power, i.e., the ability of CEOs to give themselves a raise. Out of the companies sampled, CEOs made an average yearly salary of $12.3 million.
The study also found that when overall employee satisfaction is higher with a company, the effect of lower CEO approval ratings is lessened. CEOs who were also company founders boasted 3.2% higher approval ratings compared with those who were externally hired or internally promoted.
The most highly rated CEOs were found in real estate (76.1%), construction (72.8%), information technology (72.6%), finance (72.4%), and insurance (71.8%). The lowest average CEO ratings were in retail (61.4%), manufacturing (64.1%), transportation (64.3%), mining (64.4%), and media (64.5%).
The study found that gender didn’t have a statistical impact on CEO approval ratings. But since women only made up 5% of the executives surveyed, it was hard for researchers to draw strong conclusions from such a small amount.
